A delivery docket app for feed: photograph the docket, the tonnes go in the record
FeedTally is a phone app for feed delivery dockets. Your worker takes a photo of the feed merchant's docket, checks what the app read, and confirms. The delivery goes into the farm's feed log with the photo attached.
Coming soon: docket scanning, the delivery log and the dashboard are still being built. Today you can sign up, set up your farms, feed suppliers and feed types, and invite your team, ready for when FeedTally reads its first docket.

Which dockets it reads
It has been used on two kinds of feed docket:
- Weighbridge printouts (weighbridge tickets) with gross, tare and net weight
- Handwritten delivery books, the carbon-copy docket the driver fills in and tears off
What matters is that the docket shows the net weight. So far it has been used on dockets from two merchants. Send Dave photos of a few of your own merchants' dockets and he will check how the app reads them.
Scan, check, confirm
- Scan. Open FeedTally on the phone and take a photo of the docket. The phone remembers the worker's shed, so the delivery lands in the right place.
- Check. The app shows what it read: merchant, date, product and net weight. Anything it is unsure of is flagged. The worker fixes it on the spot.
- Confirm. Blended loads are split into tonnes of each feed (how the blend split works). Nothing is saved until the worker confirms.
Each confirmed delivery adds to the feed delivery records by shed and supplier.
When there is no docket
Dockets go missing, and minerals are often added on farm without one. Manual entry is there for both: pick the merchant and feed, type the tonnes, and save. It goes into the same log as the scanned deliveries.
How do I stop losing feed dockets?
Photograph each docket when the truck leaves, before it goes in a pocket or on the dashboard. Once the delivery is confirmed, the photo is kept with it in the delivery log. If the paper goes through the wash or blows out of the ute, the record and the picture of the docket are still there.
Fixing a mistake later
If a number slips through, correct it in the delivery log. The original docket photo sits beside the entry, so whoever is checking can see exactly what the merchant wrote.
No signal at the silo
FeedTally needs mobile signal or wifi to save a delivery, and there is no offline mode yet. Where there is no coverage, take the photo with the phone's camera as usual, then open FeedTally back in coverage and choose that photo to log it.
Questions farmers ask
What if the AI reads a docket wrong?
Nothing is saved until the worker has checked it. The app shows what it read, flags anything it is unsure of, and the worker fixes it on the spot. The blend split is plain arithmetic: the docket's net weight times each feed's share of the blend. If something slips through, you can correct it in the delivery log later, and the docket photo is right there to check against.
Which merchants does it work with?
So far it has been used on weighbridge printouts and handwritten delivery books from two merchants. It should read any docket that shows the net weight. If you want to check first, email photos of a few recent dockets from each merchant you use to hello@feedtally.com and Dave will tell you how they read. Anything it can't read can be entered by hand.
Who sees the docket photos?
The people you give access to on your farm, and Dave when he is helping you with your account. To read a docket, the photo is sent to an AI reading service, which sends back the numbers. Ask Dave which service it is and what it keeps.
Do scans cost extra?
No. Scanning is included in the monthly price, with no charge per docket.
